Why Should You Use A Natural Moisturizer?

Healthy Aging No Comments »

There is one fast-growing segment of the anti aging skin care market and that is natural skin care products. This includes natural moisturizers and there are strong reasons for this movement away from mainstream skin care products. Natural skin care products are both safer and more effective than so many of the well known brands. Lets examine why you should consider a natural moisturizer.

Modern well-known moisturizers, as well as so many other modern skin care and anti aging products, contain many petrochemical and chemical ingredients. Mineral oil is a good example.

Mineral oil comes from crude oil and is a petrochemical product which is found in hundreds if not thousands of moisturizers. If you search the cosmetic safety database you’ll find that mineral oil is linked to allergies and immunotoxicity, cancer, skin irritation and bioaccumulation and more. The one reason mineral oil is used in so many anti aging products is because it is extremely cheap.

Mineral oil doesn’t moisturize your skin. Rather it coats your skin with a film of oil that prevents moisture loss. However in doing this it exposes the user to all the health risks I have mentioned, and it also clogs pores of your skin increasing the incidence of acne.

Choosing The Best Over The Counter Night Cream

Healthy Aging No Comments »

Any woman that is interested in beauty products would like to be acquainted with the best over the counter night cream, because the creams are a fundamental part of the skin care. Several guidelines for selecting the best over the counter night cream would be useful to any person.

You first need to know that it is a bad idea purchasing the night creams that are available in the conventional pharmaceutical shops. There are at least two aspects that you have to consider when you select a night cream.

First, it should never contain bad ingredients scientifically proven to be harmful for the skin. You might be amazed to know that there are plenty of night creams that comprise such dangerous ingredients. A night cream as any other cosmetic product should contain natural compounds and to be scientifically proven effective for the health of your skin. Thus it will have the capacity of enhancing the texture and the smoothness of the skin in a whole natural way.

Always avoid that parabens are present into your night cream because they are chemical substances harmful for the skin, added there just for the sake of a long expire date. They may mean cancer to you even if for the producer is a great profit.

Resveratrol – The Secret Ingredient in the Fountain of Youth

Healthy Aging No Comments »

The Oprah Winfrey Show is widely recognized as a source of expert advice on health and anti-aging. Not long ago, Dr. Mehmet Oz, an American heart surgeon of Turkish origin and an expert on the latest anti-aging techniques, made a guest appearance on the show. Dr. Oz presented some of his findings concerning resveratrol-a newly identified antioxidant and a possible catalyst for fighting, reducing, and even reversing the effects of growing older.

Fight Toxins, Fight Aging

Antioxidants are naturally occurring substances that protect the body from oxidants-toxins that damage the tissues of the body, causing the visually evident wrinkles on the skin, as well as the less obvious damage to the body’s internal systems. Antioxidants help to defend the body, particularly its organs, brain cells, and the nervous system. Moreover, they help to remove the oxidants and even repair damage caused by the aging process.

What is Resveratrol?

Among antioxidants, resveratrol is one of the (if not the most) powerful found by our scientists and doctors. As a catalyst, resveratrol sends out a kind of “call to action” to one of the protectors of our immune systems: “Sirtuins.” Sirtuins are durable genes that assist in stopping cellular decay, allowing other cells to rejuvenate themselves. An aging individual who ingests resveratrol regularly-in large enough doses of course-will therefore notice that he or she has more energy, reduced fatigue, and a healthier appearance, complete with softened wrinkles and lines.

Compare Night Creams To Avoid Dangerous Ingredients

Healthy Aging No Comments »

If you have used night creams and other skin care products for a while you might be sick of the prices and sick of the fact that you don’t see results. Many products promise that you will look younger or that you will have great skin, but you might not see it. This is because many creams are filled with harmful ingredients and toxic chemicals. So how do you find the best creams? You have to compare night creams to look for the active ingredients.

Avoid mineral oils: Mineral oils sound like they are good for the skin. In fact they are not at all. Mineral oils are not what you think. Paraffin and paraffin wax are two of these mineral oils. Now, you can see why putting them on your face is a bad idea. Most of the time they suffocate the skin and they cause many more problems. The only reason they are used is because they are cheaper to use.

Dioxane is dangerous: Dioxane used in creams is also called 1, 4 – dioxane. This is a synthetic alternative to coconut and has been proven by the state of California to cause cancer in this concentration. So, why on earth do they still use it in creams? It is best to compare night creams to make sure you stay away from this ingredient.

Can Hypoallergenic Skin Care Products And Non Comedogenic Skin Care Products Just Be A Con?

Healthy Aging 1 Comment »

Anyone who’s had an allergic reaction to anti aging skin care products would be forgiven for looking for hypoallergenic skin care products. Similarly anyone who’s had their acne exacerbated by modern skin care products would also be forgiven for looking for non comedogenic anti aging products.

The reason for this is that almost all anti aging skin care products contain petrochemical and chemical ingredients that have health implications and can produce allergies and skin reactions in many people and they can also contain ingredients such as mineral oil which clogs pores and leads to acne.

However the reality is that there is no formal definition of hypoallergenic skin care or non comedogenic skin care and that any products labelled as such may or may not be what they state on the label. There are many anti aging products available labeled as hypoallergenic anti aging products and non comedogenic which are not.

The FDA does not examine and is not required to examine any claims made on the labels of cosmetics or anti aging products and these industries are entirely self regulating. Manufacturers do not need to justify any claims made on the label of the products.

A Slice of the Senior Situation

Healthy Aging No Comments »

I was having coffee and donuts with neighbors this morning as we do every Friday when the fast-paced conversation suddenly jackknifed in the middle of the table just like a big rig would, causing a verbal pile up about the unemployment situation in Oregon. Presently we’re at a little over twelve percent with rural counties running higher than that. Oregon! One of the first to get hit in the ass and the last to recover.

The donut crew as we’ve labeled ourselves are all over sixty five. And no, we’re not immune to the Obama administration’s Socialistic policies (as I call them) which are resulting in the economic demise of our U.S. economy. I know it’s a little late for pointing fingers at the democrat voters as we’re all suffering as Americans from high prices and job losses. And we don’t know who exactly is behind it all, anyway.

Sitting on my right was Maria. She is 85 and is considered to be the matriarch of our group. She’s got a good retirement income from the Fed. and lives worry free. She has a yard man mow her lawn, she travels a lot and sure doesn’t do without. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a deep concern for her adult kids who all live in the chaotic state of California.

The Best Anti Aging Products Aren’t The Best. Why?

Healthy Aging No Comments »

If you’re beginning to notice the irritating signs of skin ageing such as wrinkles and skin sagging then you might have spent a lot of your time searching for the very best anti aging products on the market.

Those captivating television ads and glossy magazine ads just seem so convincing that those anti aging creams must be great.

But if that describes you and you’re searching for the best anti aging products you need to ask yourself a preliminary question before deciding if the products work well. You need to ask yourself whether those anti aging skin care products are safe to use.

There’s a range of chemical ingredients used in so many of the big name skin care and anti aging products that you see commonly on the shelves of your local stores. Today I want to talk about one of those chemical ingredients called Propylene Glycol.

You might even have some Propylene Glycol in your cars radiator right now because it’s an essential ingredient in antifreeze. And the EPA tells us that anyone who works with Propylene Glycol needs to don protective gloves as well as goggles in case the Propylene Glycol comes in contact with their skin.

Organic Night Cream Reviewed For Quality Guaranteed Skin Care

Healthy Aging No Comments »

Organic night cream reviewed can help anyone who is looking for the best skin care. The best skin care is not always the most expensive so it is important to understand the difference between what is good for your skin and what I not. Being and informed consumer will save you money and save your skin (excuse the pun).

A good skin care product should be able to reduce the appearance of bags and fine lines around the eyes and make the rest of the skin appear firm, smooth and more radiant. The improvement in the appearance of the facial skin will make you look younger.

There are a number of ingredients in skin care preparations that you should learn to avoid, these include mineral oil, as it prevents the skin from breathing and you skin need to breathe. If you skin is unable to breathes it loses its natural ability to detoxify. Dioxane is another ingredient to avoid as are fragrances, parabens and alcohols, all of these are regularly found in skin care products. You will find organic night creams reviewed which do not contain any of these damaging ingredients.

Are You Suffering From One of These Common Sleep Disorders?

Healthy Aging No Comments »

Experts are finding that even people who exercise often, stay away from cigarettes and avoid heavy drinking often only get a small amount of the sleep their bodies really need to thrive. Getting enough sleep is one of the most important parts of healthy living that most adults, and many adolescents, often neglect. It’s been estimated that nearly 68 million Americans suffer from some sort of sleep disorder.

Many people have a hard time falling asleep for many different reasons. Sometimes health problems such as excessive weight, over indulging on alcohol or food or simply living a stressful lifestyle can lead to sleep problems. Here are some of the more severe sleep conditions seen in many people today:

Obstructive or Central Sleep Apnea: Sleep apnea can be classified as obstructive, which means soft tissues in the rear of the throat collapse slightly while a person is sleeping, momentarily blocking the airway and disturbing sleep. Central sleep apnea occurs when a person’s brain actually “forgets” to tell the body to keep breathing during the night. This sleep condition actually causes a person to stop breathing shortly while the person is sleeping. Both types of apnea disturb sleep patterns and though they may not entirely wake a person up, they do disrupt the deep level a sleep the human body craves.

How to Understand and Cure Acne Naturally

Healthy Aging No Comments »

Having acne is terrible. Acne is so terrible that there are people that devote their entire lives to helping people treat it. It’s a good thing there are people to help too, because acne is also terrible to look at. Not just for the person with the “pizza face” but for everyone that has to look at them!

Unfortunately, to make acne an even worse problem, it is almost impossible to hide. I have seen people try with make up and all of the tricks in the book, but nothing is actually very effective at masking your blemishes. The only cure is to get rid of it completely, from the inside out.

I’m not writing this just to complain though, I do have a point to all of this.

Acne is no picnic, but it doesn’t have to be the nightmare it can at times feel like. The secret to taking control of your skin problems is finding out the root cause of your breakouts and attacking the source. Trying to simply wash it away will leave you forever “treating” your blemishes and possibly never curing it once and for all.
