Men are found to be less conscious about their weight as compared to women. There are studies that suggest that very few men know the true facts about health and nutrition. Because of their carefree attitude towards their health, men are more likely to eat whatever they want to without any consideration of its consequences on their daily calorie intake. There are many men who are overweight but they hardly pay any attention. The result is obesity which in turn causes many chronic diseases.

What Obesity Can Do To Men?

Obesity can cause several chronic diseases such as heart attack, cancer, diabetes and even impotence. Even the risk of prostate cancer is higher in obese men. Men who are obese are at higher risk of suffering from erectile dysfunction too. Due to obesity, the blood flow to the penis decreases which cause erectile dysfunction (ED). According to the studies conducted, almost 80% of men who are suffering from ED are obese. Studies even suggest that obesity increases impotency in men by 30%.

How To Find The Best Treatment For Obesity And Other Weight Related Medical Conditions

Diabetes & Obesity No Comments »

The first impulse of a person affected with obesity is to reduce his weight through diligent home care. Yet the pains of the disorder may still require him of some extra laborious yet more effective medical treatment for obesity and weight reduction.

As the common causes of most obesity cases are over- consumption of food, excess alcohol intake, and sedentary lifestyle, most are deluded that the disease is easily handled. However, as a persons case of obesity intensifies, so does the treatment becomes ever more complicated. The more the excess fat to eliminate, the more the exercise and effective diet and this is not at all easy as it may seem at first. And if the particular obesity is genetic, then there is very little to be done. Medical treatment for obesity is hence necessary for severe conditions.

Unfortunately, most people are misled by some over the counter drugs claiming to aid efforts in weight loss. Intentional weight loss is already that difficult and once the obese patient bites the bit, then his health is even more in peril. Most un-prescribed drugs such as diet pills only take advantage of the over- weight phenomena and are thus ineffective, and some could be even fatal.

Several groups of scientists are racing to publicly release an obesity vaccine to fight the global threat. Immunopharmacotherapy is proving to be effective in fighting obesity from within.

Obesity is an age-old health condition. Regard for it differ among cultures but it is mostly and especially today, considered a health problem. The condition spread throughout the world like an epidemic gravely hitting developed countries where food and sources of food is abundant.

For years we’ve struggled against it but more and more people become subject to it. Obese people become more common despite the low regard for it. Some treat obesity simply as unattractive, some consider it a major health problem. Society as a whole prefers the slim figure. The medical society advocates prevention and treatment of obesity due to the string of health conditions brought by obesity.

The food industry are of little help to the situation, profiting no matter what the world chooses to eat. The people, however, we can’t seem to help ourselves as we continue to indulge in whatever food no matter how much problems they can cause. As obesity climbs the charts, we turn to science for help. Despite the numerous diets, exercise programs, drugs and surgery, we’re still struggling against it. But now science responds with a vaccine.

Diabetes & Obesity No Comments »

In total, 25 million U.S. children and adolescents are overweight or nearly overweight. This is particularly alarming since childhood obesity can evolve into medical problems, like diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity related disability. As a parent, there are things you can do to prevent or reverse childhood obesity. Be an example.

Put away soft drinks, chips and sugary snacks and concentrate on cooking healthier meals. Encourage exercise: Play ball with your kids, swim, run or tool around in the yard. Think health and teach health conscious behavior.

Like an individual who is addicted to gambling or drinking, some people get addicted to food and feel they must have it. They generally do not have enough will power to actually stop. Some people feel that they do not have any hope. They often do not see that there is a problem.

This is unfortunate, because obesity is so very dangerous. Individuals with obesity may be healthy now, but they generally do not stay that way. A lot of these people also have health problems because they are out of shape. Today, the risks of obesity are more obvious. Both doctors and the media talk about them a lot. Obesity has been seen as the next big epidemic problem because so many American people are overweight today.
